Les will stay with JJ if we have a losing season. Loves him some JJ!

hey have said that he finally understands that when he goes to run, he does not have to abandon the idea of throwing it
This would be a good thing. But I have to see it on the field before I buy into it!

Mles is true to his seniors. JJ and Lee will see action before Mett will ever get on the field. Mett mght play 4 minutes all season............

I think Mett gets some time if JJ goes thru another TD drought like last year. Threw as many TD's in aTm game as he threw all year.. Not acceptable!

This is all I need to know about JJ at this point in the pre-season:
The Mad Hatter has a want to see JJ improve, thus it will happen.
quote:
"He (Jefferson) continues to get better," said Miles. "The offense is becoming much more describable and he is making much better decisions. He has clearly improved. He can describe what he sees, how he sees the play and his description. (Offensive coordinator) Steve (Kragthorpe) has done a great job." - Les Miles

I hope JJ starts every game because that will mean he's not sucking and we're winning all our games.

I hope he starts every game if he is not sucking and we are winning all our games. As evidenced by last year he started every game and he sucked, so I am convinced it is still possible he could suck and yet still start all the games. Hopefully if we see JJ of 2010 he will soon be on the pines or we see a new JJ for 2011 the old one was horrible.

What are you guys' opinion?
Yes. He will start every game unless he is seriously injured or dead. Les stands behind Jefferson like he was a bullet proof vest.
Now should Jefferson start? Don't know. He didn't look any different in the spring game, but who knows.

I wouldn't leave Jarrett Lee out. We would not have won TN or FL without him last year. Mett is def. 3rd in line and will only start if both struggle and he blows up when he does get some plays.

Would assume so.

For some reason, I think Les would put in Lee before MET because of seniority.
The word you are looking for is experience, not seniority. There is a difference, and Les Miles is certainly not the only coach in the world to put a premium on experience. Lee has more seniority than Jefferson anyway.

Did you see the spring game? I realize that is not the only thing, or even the most important apparently, in deciding who ranks above who going into the fall, but Mett was the only one of the 3 QB's with no turnovers in that game & he clearly threw the ball better than the other two. It should be a no brainer than he should be ahead of Lee entering fall practices, but with Miles' past preference for seniors, who knows? It is talent going to waste if Mett gets almost no chance this season--unless JJ shocks us all & is much improved.

The little I saw of the spring game, Mett looks like a decent college QB and JJ not so much. JJ could end up as situational, and change of pace QB as the season goes on. Not sure though, because there are other reasons to start JJ. Like, experience, running ability, and there's always the possibility that if he's the assumed starter, most of the offense will be taylored around his skill set. I don't know, I see Mett hitting the field at some point though

I believe that he will start every game and he'll play well and I know that that was said last year but I actually have confidence in Krags track record with QBs. I think you'll see Lee if JJ gets injured and Mett in 75% of garbage duty.

Mett's got a lot of talent (people have been talking about his talent since he was still at Georgia) and I think he'll be better than JJ by the time he's done at LSU, but I just don't see it happening this year unless JJ gets hurt or plays flat out awful and loses a bunch of games that LSU has no business losing.

Yes, it appears if Miles follows his usual pattern, we are stuck with JJ this season.

Why do people ask a question that can't be answered.
Is there anyone here @ TD with crystal Balls.
