My jerk off session lasted longer than expected so I missed out on the midnight showing

Just got back from it...
Very nicely done. It was well written and casted. As a fan of the comics and the series in general I was impressed.
I would say it's one of the best in the genre in a long while. I found that it focused on connecting with the characters, and a real rooted plot and not just about making explosions on-screen (ie. transformer movies).
I would give it a 8/10
Not trying to give away any spoilers, but there is one great cameo that the audience actually applauded in the theater.
We have a $5 midnight show special here in Tallahassee, so it was def. worth it.

I don't know if another movie can top it this summer. It was nearly flawless, in my opinion. Deserves much higher than the 87% it's gotten on Rottentomatoes.
ETA: But who knows...this may just be my post-movie excitement.

87% is incredible on RT. I think it's very accurate, imho.

It came out of nowhere

I thought it was pretty solid...
It just seemed like there was something off about it. Nothing major though.
Had some really funny parts, felt like it struggled in some parts about what it wanted to be. Also felt kinda rushed in some scenes. Definitely not a movie for the whole family IMO, but had teens as some of the important characters.
Give it a solid A-

(spoiler)
It made perfect sense too... if you know the back story to that character and his real age in the comics.

agreed, but that's kinda what I liked about it.
I don't like when they censor everything.

They are supposed to be teens, (most of them) but Banshee looked too young.

Dont get me wrong, I liked it a lot....Just some of the stuff was kinda out of place or rushed, may just be due the fact that they crammed a lot of story into one movie.

actually really enjoyed it.
michael fassbender is going to be a star, and deservedly so.

Excellent movie. Great choice of characters... including two quick cameos from the original three films, one of which had everyone applauding!
The White Queen really shined here, as did Azazel (to me anyways). Loved 'em all though.
And just think, this is (officially verified as being) only part-I of a new trilogy!

Yep. The next two are expected to encompass the X-Men during the 70s and 80s, respectively. Thus setting the stage for the original, which (despite airing in 2000) was envisioned in the '90s.

I enjoyed it. Thought it was really good, though not great. I actually respected it more than I liked it. It was a really ambitious effort. Fassbender was outstanding. Just didn't connect w/ any of the younger mutants like I thought I would. Cameos were great as well.
