Just 1 game. Epic fail. But what are the implications now?

Pretty big it would appear now - though how does one even approach such giants of the sport as Dallas Baptist.

There are so many poor choices to include over LSU, one doesn't even know where to begin. I am sure some fan here will compile that list and I can see it being around 10 or so teams.

Yeah...I have 9 off the top of my head. Our record, our RPI, who we beat means nothing? HOover is the true test of an SEC baseball team?

Same can be said for the other 6 losses in one run games.

How about LSU finishes with a winning record in it's conference? While I would love to have seen LSU in the tourney, the fact is there were 8 teams in the conference with better records. Should MSU have made it? No. But that doesn't mean LSU should have either.

was it ever resolved that a sweep would have gotten us in ? There seemed to be some confusion that a,b and maybe c had to happen, too.

About as important as UGA beating USC and UF last week

Yes but UGA played...we didn't. All we had to do was finish an inning.

Why is it that all everyone is blaming that one loss in the Ms St series or the loss to Florida as the only loses that affected our season. We lost 17 games in SEC play. What about the two games in Alabama where we were totally shut out? Winning ANY of those games would have made a difference. You all sound like our coach, blaming the season on one player or one game. We lost 17 games for many reasons.(lack of hitting in clutch situations, poor base running, way too many runners left in scoring position in every game, wasted outs on nonproductive bunts, starting pitchers left in too long... and the list goes on) I don't see how a season can be blamed on one game and one player. Seems like baseball is a team sport until we want to place blame on someone

No one person to blame. Each player and coach knows this. You win and lose as a team. My point is that every game counts...just like in football...the regular season is the place to show what you got.

Still our ooc play had only 3 losses..and if we made the tourney it would have been against non--SEC opponents...which we did well against.

I agree with you . However, there are many threads on here about blaming one player for our season. That is just ridiculous unless that person plays every position and bats at every at bat. I guess I am just tired of the posts that keep blaming one young man who has always given his best to the team. Everyone of these boys are hurting and disappointed with the season. Whether its blasting them on a forum or to the media... its just not right.

You can certainly blame Javi Sanchez. He kept running us out of innings.

Yep...only 1 guy out there for every play...and he's not a player.

Had nine chances (7 1-run losses in SEC (3 in 9th inning), 2 by 2 runs) to redirect their own fate.

PM needs to look at road series at USM, Rice, A&M ... anywhere.

LSU probably wins the sec baseball tourney 2011 then wins a regional. Bad head coaching caused this unacceptable season. With last season's basketball team, worst 2 year team in 50 years I hope this years football team is not cursed.

one loss did not do LSU in. It was the way LSU performed in the sec against ranked teams.......

We need to find a closer for next season, 3 blown leads in the 9th inning is unacceptable
