I haven't seen any reports from Butte LaRose since the Morganza was opened. Does anyone have an update or pics?

mandatory evacuation in effect but the flood is way less than anticipated. Today the corps closed 3 gates at Morganza so we are at the hump.

Has anyone been in to see if there was any flooding?

The whole place is under 12 feet of water, but the gov. and media is not reporting it because they don't want people to panic.

Crossed the I-10 basin bridge again today, and will try to post pictures later tonight to compare, but Butte La Rose looks high and dry. The water is barely on the levee on that end of the basin, and I'm not sure it hasn't even begun dropping since earlier in the week, although it does look like it rose slightly on the east end.

I barely hear anything anymore. I guess it's not newsworthy anymore.

Not true at all....the flow of the water was much greater than they thought it was (in cu ft) so they closed 3 gates to cut back the amount of water being released into the basin..it was more than they wanted.

East of whisky bay is still pretty high. West of Atchafalay Riv is lower, yesterday I saw a watermark about 1-2 ft above the water level.

There is some minor flooding going on in certain areas. Hopefully won't get much worse ( and doesn't really look to).

Yeah I knew there was some minor backyard flooding right now. I was meaning more towards what that jackass was saying about 12 feet of water. Are you from the Butte?

I just passed over the Basin, there are high parts but in a few areas the water looks to be going down.
