I was in Orange Beach this past weekend. My cousin and I went down to the BBQ pits to start cooking burgers and we started chatting with a group that had already been out there.
When we saw their burner and pot we automatically assumed crawfish but they had boiled dungeness crabs. They gave us one to share. They were flipping amazing.
Has anyone else tried this?

If you're from the Bay area, a better question would be, "Who hasn't?"

I'm from South Louisiana so I've only had blue crabs in/at a typical boil.

A few weeks ago Albertsons had a 2 for one special. I bought and re-boiled 6 of them using my own crab boil concoction. They were excellent. The meat has a much sweeter flavor than our Blue Crabs.

B&J Seafood in Hammond has them all the time.

we boiled some in our regular crawfish boil recipe. They were unreal, but they are f'n expensive. If you got the means, i'd do it occasionally.

Had both... but I prefer blue crabs. I just do.

Yep, used to pick up two for me and the ex every once in a while in STL at a oriental seafood place that was mind-blowing to shop in, as they had stuff that was from all over the world and most of it live.
