We all know the problems JJ has had in the past, but this year is a little different and here's why. The offensive line has had it's growing pains the past 2-3 years, but will play key to LSU playing a NC. With the offensive line having veteran players this coming season it will open up our running game alot and will actually give JJ more time in the pocket, which JJ is a better player when he has blocking and a little extra time to stand in the pocket. He rolls to his right side well also, so this is another advantage. If the O Line can learn to switch and pull better on screen plays this will also add another element that LSU's offense has been dearly missing. If you watch alot of last years games over you will notice that when a screen play is set up especially to a RB it gets broken almost every time. So the screen can actually be a key to LSU's offensive success.

On the Defensive side of the ball you have to stay as injury free as much as possible, especially in the linebacker spot. people say our linebacker spot won't be a strong spot but I disagree, Kevin Minter and Lamin Barrow IMO will be breakout players this season. Besides Ryan Baker has always been a very hard working player so he may just have what it takes to fill that Leadership role this will also be a key to LSU's Run this season Leadership on D in the middle!!

Special Teams will also be something to watch closely. Replacing a Josh Jasper is no easy task at all, Without Josh Jasper playing so big last year LSU could have easily lost 2-3 more games. Alleman will have to become a gamer immediately!! Hopefully This year's offense will not put so much pressure on this guy to make so many FG's per game like they did to Jasper so many times last season... Returning will be another replacement, I have all the confidence in the world that Randle, Shep, and Brooks will take care of buisness in the return game this year.

I really have alot of confidence in Les Miles, and I really think he did the right thing by letting Gary Crowton finish out the season last year. Les may fool you into thinking he has a stupid sign hanging around his neck, let me say Les Miles is far from Stupid!!
He waited patiently and picked up Steve Kragthorpe to come in as the O coordinator. Kragthorpe is the perfect piece to the puzzle and he came in as soon as the season ended. His simplified offense is the perfect fit for this LSU team because ball management will be another Key factor in the run to the title this season. Kragthorpe having all the experience he has, is a perfect coach for JJ to have. Let's face it Gary Crowton ignored JJ and it showed and wasn't likely a very hands on guy, Krags is surely hands on!! I think LSU can put it all together this year and utilize all of this unbelievable talent correctly to return to the Tigers home away from home the Louisiana Superdome in NOLA and win the National championship!!

They have to outscore at least 13 of their 14 opponents, win the SEC West, SEC and hope that all other teams lose.

The OL did great last year.

Because JJ sucks at throwing screens. He has a baseball motion that takes FOREVER. The hope is Krags can fix JJ's throwing motion and speed up his delivery.

This team will go as far as JJ takes them. Could be 7-5, could be 14-0. That's why they play the games. Hopefully he flips a switch and carries LSU to New Orleans.

Tell you one thing no matter how you look at it you can blame JJ, but your QB play is only as good as your O Line is. To effectively run a HB screen out of the back field your O line has to stand straight up starting back like the are gonna block, let the blitzers get by, meanwhile shifting to the left or right with usually a pulling guard to come all the way around while the back stands like hes gonna block then turns for the dumpoff. With a fast enough O line it can be done correctly. I haven't seen none of this in any games last year. I mean come on man JJ has been sacked 55 or 60 times in his career and thats not counting how many times he's been flushed out of the pocket!! It's not all the man's fault, Look at how well he did vs Texas A&M and "the great D", by the way the O-Line was nearly 100% and not only JJ but the entire team played magnificent!!

Didn't watch Lee throw any screens?

True, he has been sacked a lot. The thing is 34 came in his best year. The line was very good last year. I said before they sucked his first 2 years.

Calm down, I'm having a bad day so I'm trying to make myself happy. Besides, I rarely post on the rant.

yea slip screens from WR's that develop much quicker then a true HB screen, alot of those plays were just quick slants though man...

I know the difference between a slant and a screen. I'm talking about screens and Lee is infinitely better than JJ at throwing screens. The reason is JJ's delivery is just too long. Like I said earlier, everyone is hoping that Krags can fix JJ's mechanics. That could be huge for JJ's accuracy as well as cut down on sacks and opening up the playbook. The offense was completely different when Lee was in vs JJ and I'm not talking about the option. If Krags can straighten him out, LSU will have a very special year.

I'm holding out hope, but I would be surprised if JJ fixes his delivery.

We could argue both points over and over but I do agree with you on some things, but both arguments hold water here

I wouldn't think that it's impossible, cam newton got really good work on his mechanics with Gus Malz. Last year... Same could be said with tebow even tho his throwing motions didn't change much.. Footwork is a big key to throwing the ball correctly..

Oh, I agree. Definetly not impossible, but it's unreasonable to expect a 180 IMO. That said, Krag will probably also try to make the most of JJ's strengths. So, whether or not he makes big strides in his delivery, I expect a much more efficient offense.

Which is all that we need an Offense that keeps a balance a good dose of Ware/Ford/Running some QB keepers or QB Reads and some option (to the wide side), then some playaction/quick slants and an occasional deep ball, as long as they stay basic with it they should be in great shape... Let the Defense take care of the Dirty Work

The I formation should be the main formation next season...

Just talking about this makes me more optimistic. It should be a special year as long as we stay healthy on defense.
