These are my top five baseball players for the year, and I say Kudos to them. They never gave up and they always gave it their all.

Also congrats to Raph Rhymes and Jacoby Jones on good first seasons at LSU.

This a great core group. Now, if we can get the coaching and those intangibles we don't know about turned around, maybe next baseball season will be what we thought this one was gonna be!

We have absolutely no bullpen. 2008 we had Coleman, 2009 we had Ott. These guys would come in and just SLAM the door.

You can't win without bullpen help, and this teams record could be dramatically different if it had ANYONE that could close games. Hell I barely even followed the baseball team this year and I can think of 3 games we blew, UF Friday, Arkansas Saturday and today's game. I'm willing to bet there are at least 2-3 more they blew in the 9th not to mention late inning leads blown (7th and 8th innings)

We have some pitchers that will be able to contribute next year. I don't think Grewe is the coach we need to develop these guys, so that is our first need.
Pitchers coming up: Jimmy Dykstra, Ryan Eades,
Forrest Garrett, Randal Meyer, Coklin Nguyen,
Michael Reed, Nick Rumelow. We have Tyler Jones who has the potential to be great, needs to have an attitude adjustment. Also still have Chris Cotton,Jordan Rittiner, and Joey Broussard.
I beleive we have a lot of pitchers just waiting to contribute.
PM has to learn how to pull pitchers when they are struggling, he leaves them in until the other team scores 5 or more runs (that seems to be his avg.) Ott should have been pulled, last night but once again there was prob. no one in the bullpen warming up.
Needs for next yr. 1st baseman(have one coming that is supp. to be very good)
Outfield
I think Hanover and Nola will be back next year.
Hopefully next yr. will be the year, assuming we get replacements for Javi and Grewe.

Forgot to mention Samuel Peterson another pitcher who has shown he can contribute.
Do have a need for some leftys, only have Chris Cotton,Forrest Garrett, and Jordan Rittiner.

We had more problems than this. Clutch hitting was non-existent in some key games. Base running blunders. Coaching mistakes. Recruiting issues. Our road SEC record over the last couple of years reflects some pretty big problems. Certainly correctable, but still problematic.

How did we have recruiting issues if we were #1 before and after the draft? Everybody loses top players to the draft. If we didn't, we wouldn't be a top program

that game yesterday shouldn't have been close. there were some 5-6 base running errors including 2 being thrown out at home in the same inning? that shite is terrible.

Baseball recruiting rankings mean very little. Maneri himself has said we just lack talent in some key positions.

If he doesn't go to MLB, next year's pitchers will include Nola's younger brother, an outstanding high school pitcher at Catholic HS in BR.

Dykstra has couple of really nice pitches for a reliever. Garrett, Rumbelow and Chris Cotton (what happened to him? he just disappeared) all showed promise. You have to believe a top pitching coach would improve these guys. Thinking positively, it seems like LSU's pitching might just be in good shape next year.
