Good thing we never landed him, he'd be transferring here too then.

I read something that made it sound like Golden might have dismissed him for repeated infractions.

highly ranked Florida running back, Mike Blakely, is out there too. LINK

quote:

The freshman from Bradenton Manatee enrolled early but did not take part in spring practice after undergoing arthroscopic shoulder surgery in late January.

"Mike has come to the conclusion that the University of Florida is not where he wants to play football,'' coach Will Muschamp told GatorZone.com. "We wish him the best of luck.''

Blakely was one of the top running backs in the class of 2011, ranking as high as sixth at his position by Rivals.com.

Blakely ran for more than 1,000 yards and 19 touchdowns during his senior season as Manatee lost in the Class 5A semifinals.

He was ranked No. 24 in the Sentinel's Florida Top 100.
"Everyone at Florida has been very supportive of me in my time here and I'm thankful for the experience that I had, but I've made a decision to continue my college football career somewhere else,'' Blakely said.

Blakely considered Auburn, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee and USC before committing to Florida in October.

His departure leaves Florida with starters Chris Rainey and Jeff Demps as well as reserve running backs Mike Gillislee and Mack Brown, who were both injured this spring.

Blakely is the third player to tranfer from Florida this offseason. Muschamp announced the transfer of receivers Javares McRoy and Chris Dunkley in April. Like Blakely, McRoy was an early enrollee.

Not kidding, I even read it on here from Gatormb. I don't count on him landing here, however..

Gotcha, I haven't kept up with him. I just heard he was really good coming out of high school. We did need all the help we can get, though.

he tried to commit to LSU on his birthday a few years back, but we told him to wait, he got upset and we moved on and Ware committed about 2 weeks later. Blue and Gore followed suit soon after

But ESPN blasted us for turning away such a top talent

Storm Johnson is a beast with attitude and family issues. When he's on the football field, there's not many backs better than him. It's his attitude off the field that gets him in trouble.

TTs... I don't think Blakely ends up at AU. However, watch for MSU. That would only happen if he went the JuCo route, which looks unlikely. It's looking like USF or UCF.

That's recruiting. No reason to feel butt hurt about it. 90% of these guys tell coaches they're coming and don't. It's the GAME.
