Wild hogs and alligators were seen in residential and tourist areas in Vicksburg Friday, according to local police and witnesses.
About a dozen of the hogs climbed up out of the flood waters onto the riverbank of the city's River Front Park.
Police called the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks to corral them. "They ended up shooting all of the wild hogs in front of everyone," said Ashley Rose Nevels, a 25-year resident in Vicksburg.
Alligators were also spotted swimming in downtown flood waters where parents were letting their children bathe. Police Friday said they called in the National Guard, who evacuated all tourists and families from the area.

Honestly most people in Vicksburg have already killed hogs or seen them killed

Depends on the situation. Those hogs can be nasty/vicious little bastards

You get a hog cornered and it can tear up a child or even an adult if it wants to.
I kill hogs on site.

Wild hogs should be shot on site when kids are involved - especially when they are scared. I'd rather my kid see the guts of a hog thsnthe hog see my kid's guts.

+1
Those parents should also be shot on site. Can't tell you how many times I've heard, "People are being advised to stay out of the water do to the pollution and chemicals."

Those hogs wouldn't last five minutes in downtown Baton Rouge.

Everyone should have a hog killer on hand. Go buy a judge tomorrow.
