And this is basically how I feel about Magic and Bird. Together they transformed the league. I don't think MJ could have done that on his own. I do think MJ is the GOAT, but I really believe his impact on basketball and the NBA would have been lessened without NIKE.

Jimmer, and he hasn't even touched a NBA floor yet.

But can we honestly say that he was better than everyone that ever played

The only player that would come close is WILT. He avg. 50.4 ppg in 1962 an unreal stat. But at the same time Russelll was the ONLY one that could match up with him until Kareem came around, so take that for what its worth.

I think MJ's the best ever, but that statement isn't supportable at all. Bird and Magic did more for basketball, as they took it from a sport on tape delay to an international juggernaut. Wilt was the first "wow" player and Dr. J showed that basketball could be art. you can certainly debate all of those guys had more influence.

Dr. J, to me, is the most "important" player ever. Not the best, but there is no Jordan without him. He took basketball from the tight shorts, chest pass game to one of above the rim brilliance

I agree with ALL of this. WELL SAID!!!!!

I think Michael Jordan is the most skilled basketball player to ever play. If I had a shite team going into the finals for one series, I would take 2000 Shaq over anyone though.
