River at Greenville at 63.9. Corps saying levee should hold. Numerous sand boils along levee. Large sandboil near Grand Lake,Eudora Ar. Corps is building levee that will enclose an area the size of a football field, trying to hold water and let it rise to equalize pressure.National Guard is here in and around Lake Village, AR assiting CORPs and patrolling levee. Look out down south there is a shitload of water coming your way. Good news in 28 day river forecast as they are predicting a fast fall after crest of around 65 ft at Greenville on the 16th and a 10 ft fall by the first of June.

East carroll parish sheriff's office is reporting that water has topped the old levee in the bend. Lots of prime farm land and good looking crops about to be flooded.

Eta: this is behind the mainline levee.

I heard on the news that the levve was topped and 12,000 acres was flooded, but they only said NELA. Anyone know where exactly?

Just north of lake providence in Bunches Bend. It is the old levee, a ring levee. Not the main levee.

Ouch. And 12,000 acres won't do much to improve things downstream.

And that is 12,000 acres of prime cropland with a good looking crop already growing on it.
