I am taking a friend to a Dynamo game in Houston next week for his Birthday, is there anything I need to be aware of. This will be my first MLS game.

Thanks,

You're fine, but just so you know the stadium is at the University of Houston which is in a shitty part of the city.

Robertson stadium pretty much sucks arse. Way too big for a Dynamo game.

Despite that, I've enjoyed all of the games I've been to.

They typically have a decent atmosphere, but since the team's been on a slight downturn lately the attendances have dropped. They also give a ton of swag before the game and have a nice tailgating scene in the parking lots. They also make it a nice family friendly environment, if you're bringing any kids along for the game.

I've been to three Dynamo games and each one provided a different and unique experience.

I'm moving to Houston in 3 weeks and would like to attend a lot of games. If I want to be around a good atmosphere in the stadium, do I have to sit around a lot of Cuauhtémoc Blancos?

You could sit near or even stand with the supporters groups behind the goal in the south end of the stadium. They are made up of people from all kinds of ethnic backgrounds.
