Wow- Thor was Bad arse.

Not great depth to the story, like Iron Man.
But very true to the overall story, and captures the feel of the comics.
Hemsworth nailed Thor. I was surprised to like his portrayal, didn't think I would.
Most importantly, they made Thor likable and personable. The comics writers struggle with that, and yet they made it work on the screen.

I thought the biggest problem compared to iron man was the much greater suspension of disbelief required.
Even though you know the things in IM can't happen, it was portrayed in a way that made it absurdly believable.
So story wise, they had to waste time building the rules of this world, and had to keep the story vanilla to keep it relatable.

I had an awful time reading Thor as a kid. He was just a completely unrelatable character.
He even talked in Olde English.
Hemsworth's Thor was a much more engaging and relateable figure.

I just got back from seeing Thor in 3D. The 3D effects didn't really add much to the movie (or detract, for that matter), but I thought it was a great flick and lots of fun. It had great casting and some subtle humor to boot.

The sheer unexpected randomness of the humor played a big role in comedic value.
"Base....we got Xena, Jackie Chan, and Robin Hood walking down the street."
The jokes on Thor's effects on the females started to get old though.

I'm waiting for the credits to finish. I really liked the movie. I was never a big fan of the Thor comics but i've heard that people who read the comics enjoyed the movie.

Def a thumbs up...Dude nailed Thor on a RDJr level in my opinion...I really don't understand when people complain about how it doesn't fit into the real world physics and blah blah....its a superhero movie...just enjoy it

Agreed, I loved the part where he walks into the store asking for a horse
I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Hemsworth was a great casting, he nails Thor.

I thought it was pretty good. I'd go and see the sequel. Seems like there's an 80% chance there will be another one two summers from now.

I saw it in 3D IMAX. 3D doesn't do it for me.

I am not sensitive to 3D things....but I need to close my eyes for the second 3D IMAX screen.
The whole effect of floating through the rings makes my eyes hurt.
Like they are trying to focus on two completely things at the same time, and the muscles are in tug of war.
Outside of that, I am fine.

I was actually tempted to advise them to kill the 3D part of that projection (they are very good with feedback) after the movie, but just decided not to.

I like the movie. I like the way he slipped that little cameo in there, but after the last scene, everybody was like, wtf just happened.

not really an argument that it's far and away the best Marvel adaptation and to say its script doesn't have depth is negligent.
