Last night SFP questioned the Saints giving up so much for Ingram. Most argued they didn't give up anything for such a talent. As the draft progressed we've seen what the Saints could have taken. Without giving up the #1 pick next year the Saints could've taken Mikel Leshoure at 56. Here are the stats of the 2 RBs in their best seasons:

Ingram: 271/1658/17 6.1 ypc 32/334/3 receiving

Leshoure: 281/1697/17 6.0 ypc 17/196/3 receiving

Ingram: 5'9 1/8" 215 4.62 40

Leshoure: 5'11 5/8" 227 4.56 40

Hindsight is 20/20 but it seems SFP was right.

I'm 6-1, 205

The Saints should just sign me for $500,000 and cut Drew Brees.

So you take some college stats and 40 times and declare him correct even though neither has played a down in the NFL yet? Ok.

I am with SFP on the value argument

Cost way to much to get a guy who isn't that much better than others at his position we could have gotten in the 2nd.

That said it's done, it's over time get ready for our 3 round cause barring a trade this about all we got left

How sick would Ingram's numbers have been if he had played for Illinois?

Such a homer, . I didn't see you questioning the guys comparing Ingram to Emmitt Smith, the all time leading rusher, without taking a single NFL snap. Ok.

Ingram could turn out to be emmitt smith and I still think some of you would hate his pick. It's dumb to say we could have gotten someone just as good in the 2nd? How do you really know that? Anyone saying is guessing and I trust payton's guesswork more than anyone on here.

not playing a down in the NFL hasn't stopped the Emmit Smith comparisons

Did you put up the same stats as Brees in college?

Who you don't think is better. We won't know the answer to that until the season starts. And Saints FO probably knows more than jacks40 and SFP.
