frick supporting the NBA anymore. I mean it's obvious the lakers are the better team, but the better team doesn't always fricking win. Except in the NBA. The last 2 minutes of the 3rd quarter was the biggest joke in sports I've ever seen.

Maybe if the Hornets played with any energy at all they'd be in better shape.

I hate bad calls as much as the next fan but the fact is the Hornets did not play near well enough tonight to beat the lakers.

true, but the lopsidedness in this series officiating wise was out of control.

The non calls meant the difference between a tight 6 point game and a 10+ point game that started to blow wide open. I haven't complained about the officiating much before now but what happened at the end of the third was just shameful. Ticket holders should sue the league and draw more attention to the issue.

I should have known not to get invested in this series from the very beginning. The NBA has a serious officiating problem. Not everything is a foul. They need to let the players play, even when it gets physical, let them play. If you storm into the lane you should expect to be hit. Every time a Laker went to the basket a foul was called, every time Okafor touched a Laker a foul was called. Then you get the Lakers throwing elbows and hip-checking Hornets to the floor and nothing is called. It was this way for all 6 games, I'm shocked the Hornets won 2 of the games.
It was pretty obvious the NBA wanted the Lakers in the next round, if you didn't see this then look at the final 3 minutes of tonight's 3rd quarter. It was almost comical.

In one game, no. A 7 game series though? Usually.

Totally agree that the NBA should let players play more though. It drives me nuts when it is just drive to the hoop, foul, shoot free throws over and over. Completely unexciting.

I don't know if it is just me, but it sounded like the arena was pumping in audio of fans cheering when the Lakers came out onto the court. I've never seen a visiting team get the intro the Lakers did at the Hive this series. Guess that's what happens when you're owned by the NBA.
