I have and the problem is it that the crawfish die once it hits the salt water, second problem is that if you dont break the claws off it scares the fish away.

Super glue the hook to the shell and let the little nippers do their thing. Haven't fished with live mud bugs in years, but used to have good luck with em eons ago when living back home in God's country.

We use them on the strippers and sand bass on the Sabine when they make the run. We go sain the creeks for them. They work great. Usually tie a 1/2oz weight on there about 1' to 1.5' above the hook. No cork, just tight line.

I might try this next time I go out. How do you rig them?

we would thread them thru the tail like a skrimp,

or just fish the tails

frickin perch love em

get a long handle net with fine mesh and stop along a ditch and rake em up like you would catch grass skrimps

I'm taking my gf to the triangle pond this weekend. If you see someone using crawfish..it might be me.

Pretty much the only way I ever fished with my father. Bottom rig with weight below hook. Thread hook through tail, but not through carapace.

I was just watching this video of ta kid fishing with,as he calls them, crawdads. I wish I had a little pond like that to fish out of.

I never used live crawfish but have used the tails from the ones we boiled for catfish. Works good.

Ill probably be there for a little while. If you fish right where the triangle pong and the other pond meet, she can catch all the small bass she wants.

Thanks for the heads up. She always wants to go fishing with me, but after about an hour or so she's ready to go. So a pond a few miles from home works wonders.

We fished them on the bottom at a camp one night. Cast out a few on seperate poles, and free-spool. Reel in the cats and bass when the line started running.

yea, they wont be anything of size, but I caught 4 on the first 4 casts and 11 in an hour. All on a watermelon baby brush hog. that should be enought action to keep ker occupied.
