Didn't Stud find him? He went up there and saw him, by chance. Was impressed, and we were also on a baseball prospect that played with Spencer. The 2 sport angle weighed heavily in the equation, I think. Anyway, might not be all correct, but thats kind of the way I remember it going down.

Ohio State and Michigan didn't recruit him hard
if you're from the midwest and these 2 don't come calling, it's pretty wide open
LSU was on him early and could promise a shot playing college baseball on a good team

Ware got offers from Cincinnati, Duke, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

I think that it getting freaking cold cold up there every winter was also a factor. I don't think he likes cold weather.
