Bottom Line...LSU is just a very average SEC team this year.

I will be the first to admit I overestimated this team a bit early on, but it is clear they are young and just aren't that good.

Reaching 15-15 in league is looking more and more like a best case scenario.

Just enjoy Mahtook's last year in Tigertown, the emergence of McCune, and hope some of the young pups improve enough to make a regional somewhere.

It is what it is.

I think it is still too early to completely freak out but it doesn't look good

Not to be too argumentative...but wouldn't average mean being .500?

That would be 2 years in a row that we would suck after the national championship.

I said average SEC team...15-15 in league would be average SEC team no?

I hate it but I just can't see this team finishing any better than 12-8 the rest if the way.

Especially considering they will likely lose 2...maybe 3 games to Vandy alone...which means only 5-6 losses to other teams on SEC schedule.

At this point, I only hope and wish that LSU is just "a very average" SEC team.....I think they are below that.... they have shown to be absolutely PATHETIC in SEC play thus far.....if they don't get their fingers out of their assholes while trying to bat, then they will not even make the tournament.

Agreed.

But it ain't what it could be.

CPM just has to find the right chemistry and get a hot streak going. It can happen.

A coach should not be searching for the right chemistry more than half way through the season.

The team needs to forget about the W/L record and just focus on improving as players and as a team.

It's much harder for fans to think this way, however.

Did you watch this team in 2008 and 2009?

This was said after the uf series, so we just need to go out there and forget all of the previous games and start fresh.

Sure did, been watching them since I was 11. Doesn't change my opinion at all.

Coach made changes late in those seasons too...most notably in 2009.

Not saying there is no room for concern, but coaches make moves mid-season all the time.

We didn't have nearly the holes we have now in 2009, I would equate it more to tinkering and going with the hot hand that year. But we had significantly more talent and experience that year. Also, at this point in 2009 we were 7-3 in the league not 3-7. I have not given up yet, but there is a lot to be concerned about.

This fan base is always focused on knee jerk reactions and fail to see the big picture. We are playing top teams every week, just give it time. Things will turn around.

You just answered yourself

Were young and inexperienced. We should be in great position next year though.
