he did it fairly successfully a year ago. I know he provides the most pop and drives in the most runs. maybe he will help get things on the right track by getting on base early. leads the team in OBP(by a lot) as well as BA. what say the esteemed ranters.

So you want him in a spot where he's not going to be able to produce many runs? Yeah, lets give that a shot.

Mahtook needs to stay where he is, no other 4 hole hitter

Grewe needs to be fired and replaced by Ben McDonald as pitching coach

We also need a new hitting coach

so if he leads off he has no other point to produce runs?

If nobody is on base, tough for him to drive in any runs. Bottom of the order is not where your best hitters are.

NO

Keep Mahtook at 4. Switch Hanover to leadoff and Jones to 3rd.

im just thinking we need to shake up the lineup a little bit and a spark at the front might be just what we need. how's it working out with jacoby up front?

As a true freshmen, Jones wasn't ready for the leadoff spot, but he will be by next year. Let Hanover have a crack at it.

A leadoff batter has no one on base when the game begins, they are hitting with no men on.

Would you rather the possibility of a 4-0 score or a 1-0 score after the first inning? MM has the ability to hit a homer every at bat, regardless of the type of bats they use, the dude can ball! He belongs in the fourth spot. If we move him, move him to the third spot and Jones to the 6th behind Nola and Katz with hanover leading off.

you're assuming the first 3 get on.

1-0 score after the first inning?

right now this is far more likely than 4-0 after 1

He is the only guy with real power in the lineup. Gotta let guys get on in front of him.

Hanover at leadoff b/c he always works the count like a leadoff should. He also does not strike out alot and has a good OB%.

Keep Rhymes at 2. A good contact hitter with some pop.

Jones at 3. Jones can hit but is young. Putting him at 3 will let him see better pitchers b/c team s know Mahtook is behind him.

4 Mahtook
5 Nola
6 Katz
7 Ross has been hitting better as of late.
8 and 9 Need to find a LF and 1B that can hit consistantly.

Not sure if serious.

If serious, go back to watching football.
