And, yes, the game is on TV, Cox in Baton Rouge, and no, I don't know the weather forecast.

Anyone know the reasons behind this? I'm sure Ware has spring practice, and I think Jones is in the dog house, but what about Slaid?

Slaid is catcher #3 so he's dispensable. Jones in mid-week starter (for now) so he wouldn't be used anyway.
I thought the travel squad for SEC games was limited to 25 players but there are 27 players traveling.

Cox4 is like Cox's public access channel, so it has horrible programming like Sports Monday with Lee Feinswog.

Yea, reading the game notes from LSUSports.net it looks like some channel outta ATL is covering the game & they allowed Cox to pick it up.
I wouldn't get my hopes up on hi-def...
