small? So as the #2 overall pick in the draft you would say you sort of expected to get an injury prone 3rd down back who occasionally returns punts?

yeah id call him a small let down. He is a big asset to the Saints. DC's still have to game plan for him.

he's played in 60 games and has scored 33 TDs. That's not all that bad.

It's not like he is so bad that the Saints have to cut him. He's lasted 5 years and they want him back still. Small letdown.

A lot of top 10 picks never do shite. Those guys are big letdowns

Lots of people questioned his ability to be a #1 RB. So comparisons to Gayle Sayers aside, that should show you right there that expectations for him weren't as high as people think they were.

He's averaged 4.0 YPC as a RB. That's definitely solid, especially in an offense that is pass-happy. He also is, at times, a solid returner. And no matter what, when he's in a game, defenses have to respect hiim because he definitely carries that threat to house it.

So yeah, I'd say that he's been somewhat of a letdown...but there's absolutely no reason he should be near the top of a list of "career letdowns."
