LSU waited to long to replace Girouard...LSU softball since 07-08 has a combined record against Florida, Georgia, Tennesse and Alabama of 11-28 with 2 rainouts and one tie. The top recruits are not signing with LSU and all SEC facilities in softball for the most part, especially with the named are equally as nice. LSU has been a poor hitting team since Defeo has arrived and to get recruits away from the top schools in the SEC, want happen overnight. In the past LSU hid their inability to hit with dominating pitching, ie...Hofer and Turner both from Florida. I just don't think we are going to go east and recruit with much success as we have in the past with such good programs as Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee.

It's perfect timing for coach G to go. I think she can stay on in a bagglio type role with softball in Louisiana. I really feel with USA softball not being in the olympics in 2012 they have lots of team USA players out there who may like to get in college game. A Finch, Mendoza and Whatley type personality Is out there for the taking. I'm sure they can make more coaching then playing in fastpitch league.

sorry, but turner is from california. YG went west to get her. if you look at the cajuns team, they aren't filled with louisiana girls, they go out and recruit them.

as far as softball goes in louisiana, the state is very far behind.....
