Don't eat half the platter and then tell the manger you don't like it and want it off yer bill. And think first before you bitch and complain about it. If everyone else has not complained about the crawfish then maybe it might be you. When dining out, if you may consider crawfish, ask for a taste before ordering a whole platter.

Nope.

Some may be good and some bad. Some fresh ones could be mixed with older colder ones. There are plenty of legitimate reasons for a person to get halfway through then toss in the towel. And no, that wasn't me.

No there isn't. There is no excuse to eat half of anything and ask for it to be removed from bill because you don't like.

Totally agree. I don't think someone has the right to not pay for something just because they don't like it. If there is actually something wrong with it and they want another of the same thing, sure.
I used to work at an Italian place and some lady ordered a pasta and 10 mins after eating it she said she didn't like it and wanted another one.
I'm like dumb bitch, why did you order that in the first place? It's not our duty to let you taste test everything.

So yeah, I know exactly what you mean.

Ordered some in Breaux Bridge a few years ago and they were by far the worst I've ever eaten. Didn't complain, but should have. Cannot remember the name of the restaurant but if I could then I'd post it. Seriously doubt that place is still in business.

Yes there is. I have had orders of crabs where a couple were good and the rest tasted like death. There are some legitimate cases where half the food could have been eaten and they finally tossed in the towel.

A few months ago I got some stuffed shrimp and they were absolutely horrible. I don't like sending things back so I tried to persevere. I finally gave up after muddling through 2 of the 5 shrimp and starting on the 3rd. The whole meal was terrible. If I had felt inclined I could and probably should have demanded the shrimp being taken off the menu.

I have also had crawfish where some were good but others were complete mush.

You are full of crap if you say there are no legitimate excuses. Was this person's excuse real? I have no clue, but to lump anyone that does this into one group is bullshite.

I'd ask you to not patronize my restaurant again if you ate half of an order of crawfish(~50 crawfish) and then demanded your money back. You would be what people call a slow learner if it took you a pound and a half or two pounds of crawfish to complain enough to demand it be removed from bill. I mean come on....it doesn't take that long to realize something ain't right.

Not everyone likes to complain. Not everyone likes to send food back. As I pointed out in 2 examples from my past, I tried to mull through some bad food. In my case I didn't try to get my money back but for those stuffed shrimp I really should have. The 3rd one actually smelled.

So COME ON, there are SOME legitimate excuses. Once again, I have no idea if this instance was someone trying to bilk a free meal or someone that simply tried to make it through but couldn't take it anymore.

Take your pamprin and go to sleep.

That totally sounds like something that a woman I know would pull. Can you describe the diner who did this, and give us a hint of which restaurant?

I'm still going with you're a slow learner.

Luckily I don't even know what that is.

Anyways, I don't care anymore. After spending ~10 years in the industry I would guess that >90% of those people were looking for something free if they ate half their food and then demanded a credit for it due to disliking the taste. You seem like one of those trying to get a free meal so

Yes cause this is ONLY BR..

Maybe people just expect their food to be edible.

And yes you can have cold mushy crawfish mixed in with a few good ones.

Advice for restaurants in LA serving crawfish:

Dont serve crap and people wont send them back.

BTW I have cooked well over 200 lbs by myself many times. Sounds like you are either a butt hurt cook or server.

Maybe everyone else is putting up with shitty crawfish which would happen more than someone complaining and sending it back for sure.

You never did say why it was sent back..

Oh there's no doubt about it, but would it really take you half a tray to figure this out?

Why didnt he like it.. That says nothing to me.

could be mushy could have sand in the Crawfish.

Ever been served sandy crawfish? Takes a few before the grit builds up in your mouth and you notice. Once you do its not edible.

This is a one sided story. The customer could have been a cheap arse however the customer could have also had a valid complaint. We will never know.
