Not to get off subject but the family is looking for a place to stay there this summer. Where does everybody stay past Destin?

I personally like the Sandestin area. The Courtyard by Marriot Sandestin is a pretty good value however it isn't on the beach.

Assuming you mean east of Destin. We stay in Grayton Beach. It's quieter, with less traffic. In addition to the beautiful beaches, there is a lake there and a waterway that connects the lake to the Gulf. Plenty of water/beach area where the kids can skimboard and play if the surf is up and the beach is closed.
The beaches are less crowded, too. More locals hang out there and you don't have a lot of steps or sand dunes to cross getting to the beach.
My family and I love it, and it is 5 minutes from Seaside and 10 minutes from Santa Rosa Beach, so their are plenty of good restaurants to go to in the area. We usually hit a concert or other event in Seaside when we're there.
