Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that these BR suburb public schools are bad. I attended school in Livingston Parish and it worked out ok for me. If you can afford the $8K or so a year for a good private school though, you are giving your kid so much more.
Down here, Jesuit has something like a average ACT score of 30. So many of those kids are going to great colleges and there are alot of scholarships earned. The tuition is less than $8K a year. They are not the best private school, but for the money it is hard to beat.
