re: Ridley just ran 4.71 at the combine

Legarrette Blount ran a 4.74 and ran for a 1000 plus yards in his rookie season for Tampa Bay. Blount also ran a very quick 3 cone drill. His 3 cone was close in time to much smaller backs as illustrated by the NFL Network. The 3 cone drill is just as important as a 40 for running backs.

Did you watch any games this year? Lsu loses 3 more games without Ridley. fricking idiot.

Ridley is no Blount. Honestly, doubt he will be on an NFL roster.

Yeah LSU would have been in a real hole with no talent scrubs like Spencer Ware and Ford.

Ridley couldn't get past SEC linebackers, no surprise here.
What? He got multiple 7-10 yard runs in each game.

Well at least your right about that. fricking idiot

Do you know Ridley's family or something?

I actually predicted high 4.6s
LSU homers were so gullible to think otherwise

This is true he isn't Blount, but my point is the 40 is not as important for bigger backs. The 3 cone drill and the 10 and 20 yard split are more important. Ridley is not an explosive back, but Miles doesn't like explosive backs. Miles likes the pounders. Ridley can make a roster on special teams because the kid is very tough and more athletic than Charles Scott.

I love the combine, but sometimes we get caught up in the numbers....some people can just play ball. Do u remember the meltdown when we offered Tyrann Mathieu? He had an ok freshman season.

Alright both Ridley haters Lester and NIH are here!

He seems really hostile over an honest observation.

not really defeating my point there, mate.

The 40 is the most overrated part of the combine. Theres a difference between straight line speed with no pads and football speed with pads.

He'll need to run better at the LSU proday. But, they'll be looking for improvement to see how hard he's been working.

40 time is the most overrated measurement for a football player that there is especially is today's NFL.
The days of the 1600 yard home run hitting RB are gone atleast for now. The game has changed, the RB position has become a role positon todays NFL. IMO there is a spot for Stevan Ridley in the NFL and the 4th round is about the right spot.

I don't know what game you're thinking of, but LB's aren't 7-10 yards deep before the play, and never should be after they read run. Thinking of Safeties maybe?
BTW Ridley just ran a good 5 cone drill. Are the 10 yard splits going to be released for the RBs? Ridley looked good on his 40 in the first 15, his stride is just too short, he doesn't have top-end speed(something we already knew).

bragging about 7-10 yard runs in college isn't really helping the cause of proving that ridley will be a good NFL back.
