I'm really interested in Roger Mason. Jared Jeffries is supposedly destined for New York.
To do this they are going to have buy out a player. It looks like Mason is that guy.

Rip would be the best possible addition.

Not a chance. His attitude makes him a toxic presence in the locker room.
Read Woj's latest column on just why he was benched earlier this year and the failed Detroit-Cleveland trade involving him.
Hint - The benching had nothing to do with keeping him healthy for a rumored trade to New Jersey as part of a Melo deal.

Every player in the NBA has an attitude for the most part.
Rip is in a shitty situation in Detroit. The guy has been a professional throughout his career.

Most people haven't openly berated their coach on the practice court in front of the whole team or staged a "sleep-in" which involved the five core veterans on the team ditching shootaround.
Kuenster may be a shitty coach, but the way Rip handles himself there makes him radioactive.
His refusal to play for Cleveland, in order to get away from Detroit, as well as turning down a buyout that would instantly get him $18 million of the $25 million he's owed over 3 years then allow him to sign with the Bulls doesn't help matters.

whoa
i don't want anything to do with rip, but it's obviously that coach is a fricking douchebag
rip has gone through his entire career (on elite and championship teams) without incident. he knows a good coach/situation. one bad relationship with an obviously douchebag of a coach doesn't taint his persona
