We still need a PG but he's got to be an upgrade over Dotson

He's almost exactly what we need. I love his highlight tape. I'm not so sure I would go as far as you're going, but he would definitely upgrade our back court, and it would give us someone who can penetrate and create for himself and others.

It appears that Trent has made him a priority. Here's to hoping we land him.

He was the America East Conference Rookie of the Year, which means he has D1 experience.

well, i'm going that far not just based on him. i do see him as the final peace. Obryant and hamilton giving us the post presence, rebounding, and shot blocking we need. Second year turner and darenbecker giving us good outside shooting. talley running the point.

that is a big line up with skill at multiple positions. then, white, warren, stringer, dotson, isaac, and green coming off the bench. That's a deep team. these players can give quality bench minutes.

i look at this way. in most of our games it's been 10 points or less. that's a difference of five shots. can the post players limit a couple of shots for the other team and the addition of the four players gives us a few more makes? i believe it does and our record can be reversed.

Talley says LSU is recruiting him as a point guard.

He is a combo guard. Often handles the point for his team. Could be what is referred to as a lead guard; plays the point but is one of the top two scoring options as well.

Bubba, the skinny on Talley is that he played last season for Binghampton of the American East conference(Hofstra, Canisius) and was the conference freshman of the year, playing Point Guard, avg. 13.5 ppg and 4.4 apg. He transferred to Blinn so he could continue playing and then pick his destination without sitting a year. There was some kind of scandalous bs alleged at Binghampton, as they chose to sit out of the conference tournament at the end of 2010. Good-looking player who's said to have better range than on the link you'll see here. LINK

He's a good-looking athlete, much like the in-coming freshman Isaac. The stats posted above were for conference games. His overall stats in 26 games were 12ppg, 2.5 apg,4rpg,2.5 t/opg, 40% fG, 70% FT, 31% 3pfg in 29 minutes per game.
Couldn't find the stats for him this season but another poster who saw him play at Blinn says he is averaging over 20 ppg this season.

Heck I'll take the 12 ppg from our PG any day of the week, would like to see that apg number higher, but that would come with reps and practice here

his avg. for blinn is 21.4 pts, 4.0 asst, and 6 rbs a game. 36% from three 50% over all.

the thing i like about this kid. a back court of him and turner. that's two very big guards to defend opposing guards. And, two very big guards to shoot over opposing guards or post them up.

Even better, i hope TJ can lock this guy down, he'd be a great asset considering our current PG situation

Judging by those stats his 3p range has improved over last year though you have to consider he's dropped down a notch in competition. I agree teaming him with Turner could conceivably give LSU a dynamic combo, backed up by two more big guards in Dotson and Isaac. Having seen Isaac play I think he could play some lead guard as well as two. Big powerful upper body like Talley to help keep smaller guards at bay. Then bring Stringer in to fire up threes for a change of pace. With the inside presence TJ will have next year you'll see a lot of open looks for all the guards. MD has proven to be a proficient 3-point shooter as well.
