Going to the Busch challenge/Winn Dixie showdown, is one of my fondest memories growing up. My dad and I would go as soon as I got off of school on Friday, and we would stay every night until the last pitch. One of those things a teenage kid and his dad can bond over. It would still be going on if Skip and Tulane hadn't gotten into a pissing match all those years ago.

Wally Pontiff Classic. It is beneficial too and not just another money grabbing tourney.

It was established to raise awareness of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, the genetic heart disease the late Wally Pontiff Jr died from.

Wally Pontiff Classic.

It would be nice to turn this into a mini-tourney with a couple/few more teams coming in. Would build a lot more $ for the cause too.

Have it in early-mid March and it would be

I would think they would get a percentage of the gate. Also would be good for recruiting and our fans in Houston.

I am sorry but LSU baseball will not travel to a tournament in Houston when we have a fantastic stadium in Baton Rouge. The SEC is brutal enough, let alone having to face Rice in Feb.

If teams like Cal St Fullerton want to come to the Box, we can roll with that. And let us not forget that Wake Forest is an ACC school and will play Virginia and Clemson. That only helps our RPI

Lets see TS holds 93k and we are playing in Dallas to open the season so I guess doing the samething with baseball would just be ignorant lol.

We use to play in the Winn Dixie showdown which is pretty much the same premise as playing 3 games in Minute Maid Park. A few years ago we played a 3 game series in Orlando.....id rather play 3 game series in Houston.

I'd love to see the showdown come back. Round robin against say rice,A&M and UT, or Fla St,Miami and Central Fla, or other non conference 3somes.

I agree. If not in NOLA or Houston why not at the box? ULL and Tulane would probably be against it.

First off , that is football and not baseball.

Second off, the talent in Louisiana is not as rich as it use to be and the teams in Florida will not invite LSU to come down there and wipe them out in an early season tourney.

That was my point. I was not arguing with you as much as I was trying to underline how LSU baseball has a reputation and those tourneys no longer want to bring in out of state teams to play.
