I'm on the fence about this one.

On one hand, I can see this movie being really cool and I respect Kenneth Branagh for taking a chance by directing a movie based on a comic. I'm interested to see what he's done with the material.

On the other hand, I can see this movie being EXTREMELY cheesy, and not in a good way. I'm really hoping that it will surpass my expectations.

Thoughts?

I think it will be fine. It's tough to take that "Thou talkst to me .... blah blah" serious but it is part of Thor. Hopefully they tread softly on the voice , but other than that it has promise

Looks pretty cool to me. I'm more excited for X-Men First Class but I will definitely see this

I hadn't kept up with this project at all, more than knowing it was in the works, coming out soon yada yada. I didn't see the trailer during the super bowl either. I had no idea natalie portman was in this movie. That trailer made it look pretty good, though.
I also tend to like all things Marvel, including the eric bana hulk and the fantastic 4 movies

Its Kenneth Branagh...it is going to suck.

I'm not really excited for any of the comic book adaptations this summer. Its a tired genre now

Wow so you are tired of them when they are just beginning to heat up?

Pleasantly remove yourself henceforth.

Still wish they would have dropped the cape and sleeves, Ultimate version seems to translate better into the real world. Save a few, capes look goofy in movies...

And who knew they cast Jeremy Shockley as Thor

I like it. Looks badass to me. As long as they minimize Kat Dennings speaking and have her with low cut shirts, I'm all in.

Just beginning to heat up? This genre has been beat to death for about 10 years now. Not saying I'll dismiss every comic book movie from here on out but I find it difficult to get excited for them now.

See, I like seeing some of my old toys hit up the big screen (fingers crossed for Thunder-Cats)
But I agree that it doesn't need to be rushed for a cash cow. And I really don't feel like seeing any more frank miller graphic novels.

Not to excited. Seem like they are stretching a bit with the Thor movie. Not every comic book character needs a movie.

Lolwut? There have been 9 blockbusters since 2000: 3 X-Mens, 3 Spider-mans, 2 Batmans, and one Superman.

I'm tired of romcoms. There are at least a dozen of them each year. Let's get rid of them.

I'm tired of dramas. There are dozens of them put out each year. Let's get rid of those borefests.

Or you can just deal with it, wipe those little tears off and not see the movies. Just because YOU don't care for these movies, doesn't mean that a few million other people don't. Get over it.
