Pick the tool for the job. What do you plan to use it for?

I havent done either but, I would suggest a tanto blade and something with a good hilt or grip even if a folding knife.

Kershaw has an assisted opening folder. I got one for my gf to use at work (leo). Its half serrated and one of their Ken Onion designed knives, I think it was like $60-70.

I carry a SOG Aegis, its assisted opening very easy to close with one hand. I think its available with a half serrated blade. Its about the same price as the Kershaw.

I just got a spyderco for valentines day, its to nice to carry everyday and it weighs a ton. I have never looked at them before, it is very sharp out of the box though.

I carry a benchmade mini-griptillian. Probably not the best out there, but it holds an edge well considering how much hell I put it through. Never does a day pass that I don't cut something with my pocket knife that probably should be cut with something else.

I carry a Gerber Paraframe, but recently got a Benchmade for skinning God's little critters

Paraframe is a great carry knife, easy to open/close with one hand, easy to clean.

Within your budget.

Wrong, garbage.

If you want a good knife get a cold steel, spyderco, benchmade or crkt

Kershaw is good too. Go to bowie outfitters. They have the best selection.
