For once, it is not because Monty didn't play Thornton enough or because Thornton fricked something up.
Paul played like arse tonight.

What is this from?
Paul had only 8 points and 5 dimes tonight and did not take a shot in the fourth quarter until about 30 seconds left in the game.

oh my bad, its from the GS game. my bad.

Andre Miller more than doubled his output and he's the last option on offense
.
Seriously, just think about that for a second. The former best point guard in the NBA got outplayed by old arse Andre Miller.

It's what Paul is now, face it. Guy isn't a scorer when you need it. He simply doesn't want to score in the tail end of games.

IMO it still looks likes he has the ability, but he has completely lost the assertiveness we have come to expect.

It's extremely odd.

If it was injury we'd see him trying and failing but he's not even trying. I'm starting to think it might be the system. I remember at one point in the 4th quarter last night he was practically standing at half court. His defender was with him so it was to create spacing, and Ariza and Jack both got some nice drives down the lane that they failed to finish, but it does seem crazy how often the ball was not in CP3's hands.
We've gone from the everyone watch CP3 dribble the clock out offense of last year to the where is CP3 offense this year. I don't know if you can say it's a terrible system though, we got some good looks in the 4th, just couldn't get them to go in.

I put this one on Monty. In a close game down the stretch, we run with CP, Jack, Green, Ariza and DWest. It's a small, guard heavy lineup, but whose your perimeter shooter on the wing? More than that, of the 3 wings (Jack, Green, Ariza) who would you trust to just score a bucket when you need it? So it's a small lineup without offensive punch. I don't mind going small, but if you go small you better have someone who can score the ball and/or play big at his spot. Wish the hornets had someone who fit that mold. How can the hornets go small and not include Thornton?? So Monty goes small for defense?? Even if you get some stops, you have to score buckets down the stretch. In the NBA, good offense will beat good defense every time.
ETA: The last 6 minutes were painful to watch.

Thornton had just hit a 3 before being replaced by Paul in the small ball lineup, but he was having another bad game from what I saw. The road vs. home thing is puzzling, especially considering his breakout game last season was on the road. But the numbers don't lie, he's just not performing well on the road this season.

I think it's more a result of inconsistent minutes. A guy like thornton needs to just play. A few minutes here, no minutes there, then a lot of minuts the next game doesn't seem to work for the type of player thornton is. I think he's one of those you throw out there and let him play. Or you don't have him on your team.

I was waiting on someone to blame Monty when it clearly wasn't monty's fault. The lineup we were in kept us in and was going to win the game... And thornton wasn't in that long cuz he kept racking up fouls everytime he was in

Huh? What the hell are you saying? The lineup was going to win the game until what? - until it lost the game?
