was he waiting on a night when there was supposed to be a thunderstorm so he could beat on that pipe?

Yes.

Don't they even show the warden saying something about the upcoming weather..?

I don't remember that, but it's been a good while since I last watched it.

If he was unlucky, it wouldn't have been raining so he could wash the shite off him.

That was more planning on his part. They never say it but you can tell he's waiting for a thunderstorm because it's gonna be loud enough to cover up the sounds he's making.

Atleast that's what I got out of it.

I don't usually watch movies on tv, will it be watered down to the point where it's unbearable?

did you not read the thread. It's the consensus that Andy was waiting for the thunderstorm to make his move. That would take luck out of it.

If Andy really was lucky, he would have been banging some other dude's hot wife rather than the other way around.

If he were lucky, he definitely wouldn't be serving back to back life sentences for a crime he didn't commit (although I think he should have killed them).

Andy was in the wardens office finishing up, no rain no thunder. He takes the wardens shoes and books and heads back to his cell, no rain, no thunder.

Did he just know?
