I will make this quick. RBI's are overrated (independent of solo home runs) because they depend on your teammates being on-base, hopefully in scoring position, and get across the plate. For example, a double with no on-base gives you a slugging percentage of 2.000 for that at-bat, while a single with a runner on third (or possibly second) gives you a slugging percentage of 1.000, but you also get an RBI.
