Animated avatars and Sig pics...are they allowed?

Bump for clarification. I would like to change my avatar to something animated (within board size guidelines). I see the animated duck thread here so are we being allowed now? Just want to check and make sure before I do it.

It looks fine to me. 
I just want to make sure avatars like Will Cover and Prominentwon are good to go. Their avatar are less animated than most so maybe they are ok. If so I'd like to have a similar one.
