I think he will. If our offense cant be great next year with a Sr. QB, three 5* receivers and a 5* running the ball, then I dont know what the problem is. I would like to see Mett as QB, but I see JJ starting every game

I would say the odds may actually be against it.

1.) The possibility of injury, and...
2.) with a new offense bein installed, if Mettenberger and Jefferson are neck-and-neck, you play the kid with more eligibilty.

Or you play the one with more experience.

Yeah, this isn't "starting over" just b/c Kragthorpe is now here. We're not "starting from scratch" to suit him.

Jefferson will start and play as long as he produces.

if he is healthy, yes. Miles has never started a different QB in his entire time at LSU, unless it was because of injury. I don't see that changing.

Or, like this year, he'll start and play even when he doesn't produce.

Good point. Funny how one good bowl game erases the memories of seasons of poor performance from JJ.

It wouldn't surprise me to see JJ shine. A new OC can really light a fire in a QB.

It's not like as if he was horrible for his entire career. He had a bad year. 09 was actually decent for him. I think with a new OC, he'll be able to play to his potential...if Mett beats him out, then that's just business. The best player must play.

Because the other guy was soooo much more productive?

I'm pretty sure Lee was 100% recovered from Ol Piss ankle injury and Les started JJ for GT '08.

Once again I agree with you paulie. All of those games LSU lost this year is just so depressing. Losing seasons. No bowl game, finishing out of the top 10....aweful....just aweful.

or you play the one who played better in practice.

I expect the final pecking order by the time LSU plays the piggies to be
Mett #1
Jarrett Lee #2
JJ holding a clipboard. He cant pass. I am sorry. He just cant.
The ONLY reason to consider playing JJ is his threat to run.

REALLY? He was horrible for most of it. The last 2 years were pathetic as a whole with some solid play periodically

One would have to have faith in the OC and QB coach to show a little, just a little improvement to JJ and he could be a great QB.....Let's hope so,,,,,

No, JJ will not start any games bc he's going to be beaten out in spring and summer practices

But he will play in every game as a run QB threat so that DC's will have to game plan against it

well, actually yes. Lee was much more productive up until the Bama game. Yet, Les continued to start Jefferson and play Jefferson the majority of the snaps. Why was it, that up until the Arkansas game, every time the game was on the line, Jefferson was pouting on the sidelines while Lee was in the game?

Go look at the stats from the beginning of the season. Lee beat out Jefferson on the field through the middle of the season and Les refused to start Lee. That is not debatable. It is a fact.
