I'm familiar with the slot position, and I've watched Landry's film.
IDEALLY, LSU would like to have a compliment to RR on the other side comparable to the kind of receivers that required PP's full attention this year.
I don't know about you, but I want my slot receiver to be refined, in an ideal situation. Shepard has a long way to go. So much so, that I simply laugh at the Harvin role talk that was so prevalent prior to this season.
I look for Shepard to get a chance in the return game, along with a package where he lines up alongside the QB from the shotgun. Someone else will fill the slot by season's end.
I'm hoping it's Landry, and one of the other guys steps up on the outside. I like Landry's hands, and he will present matchup problems more from the slot. He can be a go to guy.
