I worked and lived in Louisiana for most of 2010 and moved to Texas in October, so will I receive something from the state of the Louisiana to file on my taxes, like a state tax form or something? This is my first time doing my taxes on my own and I'm a bit confused. TIA.

If you worked in Louisiana your W2 will show state wages and state tax withheld at the bottom. If you have changed your residence to Texas, you will have to file a form 540B with Louisiana to report you income earned here, pay your tax or receive your refund.

Hmmm . . . it just did my state taxes for me.

I lived and worked in Louisiana from Jan-Apr, then moved to Mississippi and worked here from May-present.

I input into Turbotax that I lived in two different states, and it automatically generated the forms I needed.

If you earned wages in Louisiana, your former employer will mail your W-2 to you at your last known address. If they don't know where you moved to, then you probably won't get it.

Once you have your W-2's, you can do all this online.
