Bobby Knight v Dale Brown

Does anyone know where I can find a tape of the press conference when Knight said that he wasn't worried about winning the game when he saw Dale Brown coaching the other team? I tried YouTube but didn't find it.

there is no video from what I have ascertained

I believe Knight said it differently. I think he said something to the effect that he thought Indiana was going to lose the game until he looked over and saw who was coaching LSU and he knew, right then, that they still had a chance to win.

There is video of the conference, but it is the archives of the Boardcast company. The last time I saw it played was in the late 90's.
The conference must be put in context:
LSU lost to Indiana in the elite eight of the NCAA tourny.
LSU was the 10th seed, Indiana the #1 seed in the Midwest region.
You can get the game on tape at:
LINK
LSU was ahead in the game and then Bobby throws the phone and stumps on the court and the refs after that point things changed in the game.
Bobby should have been kicked out of the game, and got a tech. But he got nothing.
Watch the game, it is a total joke the last 2-3 minutes because Bobby was looked at as a god in the NCAA.

I always thought that was a pretty stupid statement to make. He's got the loaded #1 seed and he almost bones the shite out of that game against a 10 seed without their superstar (Blanton was out due to injury). The fact that he "outcoached" Brown as he perceives is debatable.

Brown blew the game with his late game offense.

The Boat
Simply BS
The game change was mainly on non-calls of clearly 2 techs by Bobby Knight. Ever in the history of the ncaa see a coach not get called a tech for throwning the game phone? The second one of him leaving the coaching box and stompping onto the floor has been a non-call before, but very rare.
That changed the way the game was called by the refs which causes Brown to change the way we played.
Watch the last LSU shot and see what you think...
Brown was in a bad spot and anyone watching the game could see the refs were not going to give LSU near anything.

If I remember correctly we were up by like 10-12
points with about five minutes left and instead of Brown just letting the guys just play ball we go into some kind of stall on offense to use the clock and it just backfired. No doubt if we just continued to go with what was working we win that game.

i always thought the quoot was regarding when we lost to indiana in the final four and knight was asked abuot preparing for LSU BEFORE the game and he said something to the effect of
"After watching tape on LSU i wondered how they managed to lose 5 games...i looked and saw dale brown and knew i had a chance"

I wore my LSU Basketball shirt to a TTU (Texas Tech) game and as they were walking into the locker room at half time. He noticed it and starred all the way in. After the break I went back to my seat and could see him looking for me where I was standing.
I think LSU definetly is a burned memory in his head.
I know CSB. But I do represent, to all sporting events. Even though we do suck arse in BBall.
BTW this was like 7 years ago.

Remember hearing "an addiction to Pacman" was one of the reasons for his grade issues that forced him to sit some games...I liked Pacman, but jeeze!

I always love the selective memory of those who want to blame the Indiana loss on Brown holding the ball late. I always wonder what those people thought when LSU held the ball against Georgia Tech in the first round that year and won, or when LSU held it against Temple in the second round and won, or when LSU held it late against Depaul in the Sweet 16 and won. Those people don't tend to have a problem with that. Maybe the Indiana loss could as easily be explained by any of the 50 or 60 moving screens Indiana set for Alford that weren't called, or any number of touch falls called against Oliver Brown or Benard Woodside when they tried to fight through those moving screens. Said it before will say it again, the 87 Indiana game was the biggest screw job ever to an LSU team.

Final Four was in the Super Dome
The Super Dome has been very good to LSU in its history. Indiana won it all that year, maybe the Tigers could have had two more magical games.

Now that's saying something.

True, but he's right. Considering what was on the line, and how it went down... it was damn near criminal what happened on that court to LSU re: officiating.

I remember a press conference once with Brown and Knight. Brown was carrying his grandkid, and there was a running joke as to whether Knight tried to hit his kid.
They didn't like each other, at least publicly.
