Why didn't we re-sign Fujita?

Mike Bell wore the wrong cleats in the Super Bowl, understandable.

So why didn't we re-sign Fujita? He was a key player in our Super Bowl run, came up with the Peterson fumble in the NFC Championship Game right before halftime, etc.

He was the only Super Bowl starter that wasn't back in a Saints uniform in 2010. Did he get on bad terms with Payton/Williams/MGMT?

Unleash to dogs of war! I'm ready, bitches!!!

I never got a good explanation as to why we let go of Fujita, and I would like one.

Why not Shanle? Why not someone else?

The Saints didn't feel as though keeping Fuita was worth the price that it would take, simple as that.

The reason most players leave teams once their contracts are up...he wanted more money than we were going to offer him.

The fact that he ended up with the Browns tells me that it was a a good choice

$$$$$

Browns were offering a hell of a lot more than we would have, smart for him to go.

I dunno if it even reached a bid...

Signed a three-year, $14 million contract. The deal includes $8 million guaranteed. Another $2 million is available through incentives. 2011: $2.4 million, 2012: $3.65 million

That's about twice the real market value for a 31 yr old. More power to him, great guy. Intangibles out the wazoo but they ain't worth that much.
