For a typical highball--say whiskey and Coke--how many ounces of whiskey and how many ounces of Coke for a single and for a double? It's for a science project... Thanks

supposed to be a shot worth (1.5oz). Most places tend to go 2oz. of course that is just for the whiskey depends on the drink for how much coke, but you should never add coke to most whiskey.

eta... single 1.5oz double 3oz.

probably the same. don't really know because it depends on taste. I usually don't drink a whiskey that needs to be mixed with coke.

Coke is probably double the amount of whiskey. You could google it.

probably counted 2 seconds for a single and 4 for a double? that is why I said 1.5 to 2oz, most of the time it is done by count and most bartenders err on the side of more than less because of tips.

The accepted standard is 1-1/4 oz for a single and 2 to 2-1/5 oz for a double. Bartenders are taught to do a 4 count for a single and a 6 or 8 count for a double, depending on the bar's policy.
