I play alot of tournament poker (WPT event is going on at the Beau Rivage) and it allows me to conversate with many fans from around the SEC. I've noticed a few things that lead me to believe that most, if not all, negative fans from all schools are led by emotions and anything that is sensationalized by the media. I would say 98% of the fans I talked with were well versed when it came to all the SEC schools. When talking with the other 2% of fans and telling them I'm a Tiger fan, you would've thought I was talking to the same person. Everyone of them said the very same thing, Les Miles is an idiot, he's very lucky and he is horrible at clock management. I will admit, clock management is a valid point, but every SEC coach has had blunders happen. The one question I've asked everyone of the 2%ers is, if your school would've had the same run as LSU in the last 6 years and be in the position LSU is in for 2011, would you want Les Miles as your coach? Every last one said yes. Surprisingly, every Alabama fan that I talked to spoke very highly of Miles, something that has totally changed in just a few years.

The positigers expectations for the next year and beyond are gonna be the death of Miles career. All I see on here are posts claiming a National Title for next year and why we will be #1 in the country before the season. What positigers are doing is setting expectations way too high for Mett and Miles. I think it's fair to give Mett 1 year to develop and get used to the SEC. It's also fair to set minimum expectations at an SEC West Title. I would be happy to get back to Atlanta. After that we will see what happens. Positigers are putting this team in the Title game with Mett leading the way next year. Very unfair. If it happens great but not fair to Miles or Mett.

You are right on about the over hyped expectations for next yeat and Mett. LSU will certainly be good next year, but so will a bunch of other SEC teams and teams from other parts of the country. There is a very subtle difference between posititigers and delusional tigers.

Since you're still calling them "negative fans" I don't think you've learned anything at all.

Mett and the National Title are two seperate things. The fans who claim that Mett will lead us to a Title next year are just plain wrong. But to expect a title from LSU in 2011 is plausible.

We have plenty returning starters and a new OC. I hate to keep saying this but do you honestly think we lose two games in 2010 with a better offense...nope! We win both those games. If our passing game was in the 60th in the nation instead of 100th, we win both games. We don't need a top 10 offense to win, we just need a mediocre improvement

No. LSU lost both of those games due to defense mishaps. Did you watch either one?

I am looking forward to 2011, but you hit the nail on the head. So many thing go into winning it all. Luck is a big thing and it's something you don't control. The team that wins it all, always has two or three things go there way when it shouldn't have.

Bama has to respect the guy now. He's beaten Bama 4 out of 6 years since coming to LSU. Can't ignore that.

Please, nothing expressed here will have anything to do with what happens in the future at LSU one way or the other.

We are a bunch of guys standing around an internet water cooler with nothing better to do but :beatdeadhorse:

I watch football to be entertained. Watching Lsu's offense the last few years has not been very entertaining. Maybe that makes me a negatiger or not as good a fan as some. I think Miles is a good coach, but he is not infallible. We could have easily lost to florida and tennessee. I'd like to think I'm a reali-tiger.

So you call people positigers if they are excited about next season and believe lsu has a realistic chance at a title run?

I think they should be called fans. What is wrong with people being excited about next year? I look at several teams fan boards around the sec. It seems as if it is a crime for people to be excited and positive about lsu football on this message board. I don't see that sentiment on other boards when people talk about their team.

What would you rather lsu fans do, peopleschamp? You want everyone to do nothing but bitch, complain and spread negativity like an out of control std? There is nothing wrong with being excited about next season and the future of lsu football. If you and your negative ilk take of the hater shades you would see how bright the present and future is for LSU football.

You're wrong, the nega's on here are trying to set some mytical bar. They are doing this to combat the feeling the posi's have gotten what they want.

They only way to keep the nega's fed is to have hight expectations so there can be some short coming to bitch about.

posi's should be thinking 10-2 with a BCS bowl and possible trip to Atlanta.

let me be very clear, this was about fans being negative in general and not about negatigers vs positigers.

Three things

1) there are a lot of fans who are complainers by nature and their favorite football team gives them a great outlet to express their negative feelings on a regular basis since no team or coach is perfect.

2) Les Miles has been and continues to be branded as an idiot who has bad clock management skills and won with Sabans players. Negative fans have been all in taking the bait the media has put out there. In fact, they both feed off each other.

3) Les Miles is changing this unfortunate Brand by winning games and by fans paying close attention the the job Coach Miles is doing. He's very well respected by his players and coaches which is what is most important. Most Bama fans have finally have figured this out and now realize their man threat is LSU and Coach Miles

People running their mouth and basically just vomitting out what they heard on the radio even though they have no clue or original thought about what they're talking about is not mutually exclusive to sports or LSU for that matter. You see this more with politics than anything else (on both sides). Religion too.

all valid points. I think if you look at the past few years objectively, anyone would be happy with the amount of victories. My only gripe is that maybe we haven't taken advantage of the amount of talent we have had. It's a credit to Coach Miles that he gets that talent here, but how long will this run on recruiting keep up. You never know, that's why you would like to see more championships; sec and or ncaa
