... if this is true, then Miles could be considering promoting BG and bringing in this guy at BG's recommendation

So who has UM had in 2002-07 at QB that he would have coached?

Not impressed with Florida since he would have coached Tebow his senior year. Detroit in 2008 was the worst team in NFL history was it not?

So has he coached up anyone of note?

He coached Chad Henne's entire career I think at Michigan, and worked with Brady as a grad assistant. Detroit doesn't look too good on his resume, and Brantley wasn't good this year either

If we hire are hiring a QB coach, it means we are promoting Gonzales.

maybe college is like the NFL -- poor QB play = losing and long seasons.

hmmmm, now that i say that, we finished 11-2 with what you could argue is poor QB play. (If you surround a team with a damn strong run attack, a top 10 D, and amazing special teams), then you can cover a poor QB.

BUT why accept that when it can be improved upon.

I am beginning to believe this. But I have a question. Whenever Miles was asked about a QB coach this past season, he always said that they didn't have that position available.

What would have changed?

ETA: In other words, would Gonzales WR Coach position just go away?

ETA2: Nevermind. I'm stupid.

I love how everyone disregards the player's role in their performance. It's all on the coach.
Henne was nothing special

Detroit was garbage at QB

Brantley sucks

When this pattern emerges, can we start blaming the coach?

Whats your point?

I would say a Good QB coach can make a avg talent a pretty competitive QB.

A Bad QB coach will do nothing with the same talent and maybe make them worse.

So if you have above avg talent then why shouldnt you expect above avg play?

Which QBs are you talking about? JJ and Lee? Both that have a lot of talent but look horribly coached.

Crowton was the QB coach.

yea I mainly gave him a pass for being a wrong fit for the offense, but timmy certainly didn't clean up he mechanics under his watch either.

To be fair, the entire offense looked out of sorts in 2009.

My guess is Addazio.

Has a great reputation.

Henne is Michigan's all-time leader in a ton of stats, so I wouldn't say he was "average."
