I havent looked at the ratings but I am quite sure we give college football fans the most exciting games week in week out with les at helm.

now imagine if the big 12 were to come courting LSU. talk bout the balance of power shifting

ps. give me some time and i will get back with some rating figures

I would venture to say that LSU might cause more heart attacks than any other team in the nation.

i am not so sure. Our fan base might be small but for the college football fans in general, we are always on their radar. if you want to watch a good game, turn on and watch the tigersssssssssssssssssssss

Probably Notre Dame with it's own network and disillusioned national fan base.

As much talent as we have alot of people dont look at that as far as what we know in recruiting in all.

People like to watch teams like Oregon, Texas tech (when leach was there), FL tebow era, Alabama to see how good they really are.... but most the people like to watch teams with fast offenses that pass the majority of the game

LSU got alot of exposure from Patrick p this year and people who know football like to watch LSU for their Defense.

I think not. However, I will say that in travelling a great deal the past few decades I've witnessed many a t.v. in hotels , bars, restaurants, airports, etc. tuned in to LSU games. Obviously the opponents in those contests could take some of the credit but I've talked to many folks nationwide who claimed they liked to check in on the Tigers now and again. I think the LSU brand is in the top ten currently as for as FBS schools go. Notre Dame has pretty much always been deemed the #1 draw in my lifetime and still appears that way with their on national network. Alabama, OU, tOSU, Texas, USCw, Penn. St., FSU and UF are all big-time draws.

I'm pretty sure the SEC rant had a thread about the most watched games this season, and Alabama and Auburn were in almost all of the top 5.

I don't recall an LSU game making the top ten in Nielsen ratings. But I just glanced at the thread so I could be wrong.

you serious? there's this little catholic school up in indiana that has it's own (nbc) national network/recruiting platform that feeds, week in and week out, it's over hyped/rated brand of mediocre football to it's dilusional "subway alumni" fan base. LSU, with it's staggering 10yr level of excellence, probably doesn't even come close. so it geaux's.

No. But OOC games like WVU and Oregon will go a long way in making LSU a national program. Next year there may be a claim for it if the chips fall in the right places.

The WSJ had an article a couple of weeks ago and LSU is the opposite.

quote:

When Southern California is in a bowl game, TV viewers tune in. Same goes for Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame and most teams in the Big Ten. Nebraska and Oklahoma surprisingly don't move the needle, though. And a few big-name schools—including LSU, Clemson and Georgia Tech—actually move it in the wrong direction

LINK

ETA: I know this article is about bowls, but its not likely to much different for regular season games.
