Im not sure how much different the financials would be from what we have now? It seems you are just taking 3 BCS games and making them playoff games.

the BCS money (which actually isn't that much money) is split by specific rules. each conference gets x dollars for their first team (with all 6 BCS conferences obviously getting an automatic shot at this first set), and you get x dollars for a 2nd team (no 3rd team allowed). non-BCS conferences get x dollars if a member school makes it

playoffs = bigger TV deal likely, which = more money to split

you don't have conference tie-ins with a 4-team playoff, and the conferences won't split money evenly
