Anyone have one?

Had one years ago and loved it. Large enough for a decent (not huge) turkey. It was great for the holidays, because I could bring it over to Mom's as an extra oven.

I have a GE. Works fine. I don't use the convection feature that often, mostly around the holidays when preparing multiple dishes that have to be served at the same time.
You can cook anything in it. You can even bake biscuits just like in your oven.

Thanks for the tips. I'm trying to decide on a brand/model. I don't use the microwave but for heating, steaming veggies or cooking popcorn. I'm more interested in the convection part because it's cheaper than taking out one of my perfectly good ovens for a convection.

almost bought a few years ago.
Figured I would never really use it, so decided against it.
I'd love to hear reviews

Hoping to get some more. I can always use another oven. I have two and they're 36 inches, but I can't count the times when another oven, not a toaster oven, though, would have come in handy. I would think a microwave convection would be a little roomier than a toaster oven. My microwave sits in sort of a specially built cabinet right now. I guess it was a counter type that doesn't sit on the counter. Have to figure that out, as well. There's a vent on the bottom, but some of these have vents on the back, I believe.

I rebuilt my kitchen cabinets a few years back and built in the microwave and the heat ventilation kind of worried me like you said.
I have a buddy who sells appliances, he told me there are more problems with the convection type microwaves.
Also the stainless interior kinda freaked me out a far as a microwave..I am strange like that
I bet they would be great for biscuits and such. I don't do much baking though.
A good friend just bought a new built in full size oven yesterday with convection.. waiting on his reviews

I really, really want a convection oven, but I can't justify buying one when my others are just great and plenty large. The microwave combo sounded good to me. Maybe there's a brand that works well.

Why? (serious question)

Convection ovens cook faster and at lower temperatures that regular ovens. They also produce more even browning and more consistent results. If you were to swap one of your regular ovens for a convection, then the other oven would be used to store baking sheets except for the holidays.

I have one above my stove. It works well and is nice to have when you need an extra oven. Mine is the stainless kind which is kind of odd since it is also a microwave. I have a GE and the only complaint I have is that it takes forever to heat up especially considering the size of it.

We love our Velos Series Whirlpool Gold combination microwave/convection/vent . I have a convection oven in my range but this microwave/convection/vent is a great addition especially at holiday time or when I don't want to heat up the kitchen.
We've made pizza, pies, cookies, steamed veggies and the thing has an easy clean surface so my hubbie can splatter stuff all over and it's a simple wipe down for cleaning. No sprays or steaming the microwave to soften food bits. It came with a wire rack to raise the food so the convection feature can work.
It was really strange putting something metal in that oven, but since we were using the convection feature, there were no micro-waves to make sparks.
We love it. Wouldn't trade it and hubby said when we sell the house, we take the microwave with us.

last yr in my apartment i had one; they are pretty cool. but it was the size of a small microwave of course, so that limits what you can put in there. did cook a turkey in one once, almost had to shove it in there, but it came out fantastic.
