Well do we or do we still remember the one that "got away"?

He didn't "get away", it isn't like LSU was in a battle to keep him anyway. It was always known that, eventually, he would take a shot at the NFL. So he did. It wasn't like bama came for him & we lost the fight for him. He went to the NFL, HUGE difference between that & going to another college job. When he realized he couldn't make it as an NFL HC & came back to the college ranks, we had our coach. No pining for him.

Mostly the Miles haters are the ones wishing they could turn the clock back and bring Saban back. Les has beaten him 2 out of 4 times as well as Meyer. We can't win the NCS every year and neither did Saban. Style wise ... I want Coach Miles to coach my kids over Saban any day.

It's as if Angelina Jolie was sleeping with you before she became famous. Once it happened, you knew your days of tapping that were limited. Once she inevitably left your poor arse because you didn't have the money, you can still brag to your buddies.

So I don't think anyone really thinks we could have kept him. He wanted to leave. He wanted to sow his wild oats and there was nothing we could have done to stop him.

This is Rant urban legend. I do not like Miles and I do not want Saban back. There are plenty of good coaches out there that can win with our talent.

I'd say no. Here are some of the ways I compare the two.
Saban is about as dull as our basketball coach.

There is nothing that Saban has done here that Les hasn't.

You'll always know what Saban will say in a PC, but you never know what Les will say.

Saban loves himself, and Les loves his team.

Saban will throw his players under the gravel truck rather then put blame on himself. Les has never done that to my knowledge.

Saban had his chance to go elsewhere and did. Les had his chance to go back home and didn't.
