i think LSU did great. we locked up one of the best coaches we've ever had up and will not have to deal with this extension bull crap which can definately negatively affect recruiting. at least for 3 or 4 more years when it should be revisited. also, NO xtra base pay is huge imo. yes, additional performance money but that's the way it should be. you make more money when you perform better. personally, i am very happy that coach miles has an opportunity to finish his career at LSU and maybe achieve the most wins of any LSU coach. yahoo!

pretty good deal to be top 10 in recruiting every year

holy shite thats a huge extension.....I wonder if the crazy large buyout clause is still in there which basically would cost LSU a fortune to fire him early

I wonder if the clause is still in there that adds a year for each year the Tigers win 8 games. And the buyout, too.
If it is, then Les will be a Tiger for a long, long time because I don't think any other school would offer that up, and I don't think Les would be willing to give up that piece of the pie. It's huge.
Having said that, I'm damn glad Les signed the extension and I hope he'll be a Tiger for a long, long time. He seems to me to be a damn good man and a fine representative of LSU.

Do you have a sticky yet? This topic HAD to have its own topic. Some of us work and do not have time to look deep into each topic.

That is actually a three year extension on an already existing four year contract. But it is still a good contract.
