Anybody know anyone in the Mansfield/Desoto Parish Area?

so here's the deal, I get a speeding ticket in Desoto Parish on I-49 while on the way to visit my sick grandpa in Texas. I was speeding and had no problem paying the ticket. Ticket was for $206 and I called to get the right address and sent a money order. Well some weird feeling tells me to call them up after what would have been my court date to make sure my payment was received. you guessed it "we never received it". I called my buddys dad who is an attorney in Shreveport and he said if you didn't pay extra to make them sign it when they received it a lot of times they will just cash that shite. of course, i just did regular mail 
I really do not know what to do here, I am a graduating senior and don't have(or want) an extra $206 to just fork out and double my payment :banghead:

Was the money order received and cashed? Have you tracked it?
I left a message this morning for an attorney that lives in Desoto Parish, on another matter. When he calls me back, I'll see if he knows anyone there that could help.

I have sent tickets like this before and never had a problem and it did not even cross my mind until about 2 days after i sent it. if i could only go back and spend 10 extra buck for a cashiers check from cap 1 it might have saved me 200 Posted on 1/12/11 at 11:56 am to redneck

Can't you still track those? I would think that all money orders were trackable.

Probably need a receipt to track it. If he paid cash it may be difficult.
If he knows the date and time of purchase and amount of the check, maybe the Cicle K keeps some type of accounting or can put him in touch with the company the check is administered through.
If they can identify the check and the person who signed it on the other end, this might be enough to show it was received.

My brother n law is a deputy sheriff here in desoto. I would try to help but he's a smart arse prick and needs his arse whipped. Would love to do it but I have to much shale money on the line from the n laws

i understand, called earlier and they said i pretty much have to pay again and try to track the MO. if i somehow figure out anyone associated with them cashed it you can bet your arse i will get an attorney and will raise some hellPosted on 1/12/11 at 5:33 pm to redneck
