This entire Michigan fiasco hasn't changed my opinion of Miles one iota.

Miles is a good coach, but not an elite one.

He is an exceptional recruiter.

He is a below average tactician.

His teams typically commit too many turnovers, too many penalties, and occassionally make awful blunnders (Ole Miss, Tennessee, Arkansas).

LSU under Miles plays down to its competition.

He's won a single SEC title in six years.

I'm really ambivalent about his return.

+1

I will say that I didn't have a good feeling about having to replace him. The timing and potential candidates just felt like a no win situation for LSU this year.

agree.
Mixed feelings.
Fine man, great recruiter.
Poor game manager.
How does a guy judge recruits so well, and asst. coaches/ coordinators so poorly?

I feel pretty much the same way..

I wanted him to stay THIS YEAR because bringing in someone new this year would have been a bad idea. However I would trade Miles away to get rid of Crowton.

If Miles fires Crowton then I will be more than happy.
